FAQ

What are custom embroidered patches, and why choose heat transfer backing?

Custom embroidered patches feature high-density stitched thread designs that provide a classic, textured, 3D appearance. Opting for heat transfer (iron-on) backing eliminates the need for time-consuming hand-sewing, allowing garment manufacturers and apparel brands to rapidly fuse premium embroidered logos onto garments using a standard commercial heat press.

What backing options are available for bulk embroidered patch orders?

We supply customized backing options to fit diverse production workflows. Choices include high-strength hot-melt adhesive backing for heat press application, classic sew-on backing, industrial hook-and-loop (Velcro) backing for tactical and workwear uniforms, and self-adhesive sticker backing for temporary promotion.

Which garment fabrics work best with iron-on embroidered patches?

Our heat-seal embroidered patches bond exceptionally well to sturdy woven fabrics, including 100% cotton, canvas, denim, polyester, twill, and nylon blend jackets. For heat-sensitive or high-stretch knitted materials, we recommend sew-on application or using low-temperature backing options to protect fabric integrity.

What heat press settings ensure maximum adhesion and wash durability?

Press at 300°F–320°F (150°C–160°C) for 15–20 seconds with heavy pressure (4–5 bar). Pressing from the backside/underside of the garment is highly recommended to ensure maximum heat transfer through the thick patch layers, creating a permanent bond that withstands 50+ commercial wash cycles.
